Put prayer on your to-do list

first_img The Anatomy of Fear InspirationBy Don LindseyIn my life reminders play a very important role. In all honesty, I wouldn’t get half of the things that I get done without a reminder of some sort to do the tasks I need to do. They also keep me focused when life gets chaotic.  I seem to be getting a lot more scatter-brained the older I get so writing myself a list of things to be done can cut down on me wasting a lot of time sitting around wondering what it was that I needed to accomplish.Reminders also are useful for improving my mood when days are emotionally difficult.  When I’m having one of those days that sees everything I touch fall apart, remembering to pray and take a couple minutes to breathe allows me to turn things around and make the day better.  In my opinion, this is due to me reaching out to God because when I do so, I almost instantly relax.  Knowing that He’s with me reminds me that I am loved and as it turns out, that’s important to me.I’m sure that I am not alone in that thinking, in fact, I’d go as far as to predict that most of us are like that and that’s not a bad thing. It can also be a very refreshing thing to know that you have shown someone that they are loved by doing something kind for them.  The more I explore this thought process, the more it becomes clear that finding a way to share our love for each other instead of focusing on our differences could eliminate a lot of the state of anger our society finds itself constantly in.I am blessed to have several reminders of love and how lucky I am every day in my wife, kids, and parents.  Spending time with any of these people is a gift and I’m learning not to take that time for granted.  Whether it’s a funny conversation with one of my kids, helping my parents out with something, or doing something that my wife appreciates, I tend to get the most out of my days when those that I love are involved in as many situations as possible. Seeing their smiles or hearing their laughter always puts me in a good mood and makes me want to continue the positive environment going on around me.At the end of the day, I think about the best thing we can do as people is to make the area around us better.  Doing that could be something as simple as reminding someone that they’re loved.  The feeling that comes from seeing their appreciation is worth it alone.  You’ll probably see something else in their look as well.  That would be a reminder that you are also loved. 2 COMMENTS TAGSDon LindseyInspiration Previous articleApopka firefighters still assisting in Hurricane Michael aftermathNext articleThe best news of the week Denise Connell RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Support conservation and fish with NEW Florida specialty license plate Reply Hey Donny, aint it the truth? The wonderful thing about prayer is that He is constantly speaking to US, and reminding us that He is there, just yearning for us to visit with Him. Imagine that prayer is nothing but visiting with Him. He talks to us in a language without words but that we never fail to understand! Keep talking to Him my friend, He loves you.
